Hizb ut Tahrir Leads Protests Against Israeli State Terrorism and The Treacherous Policies of the Regional Muslim governments

London, UK, Sunday July 23rd – Hundreds of demonstrators protested at the Egdware Road in London earlier today as part of a series of activities organised in response to the death and destruction being perpetrated by Israel's terrorist policies with the approval and support of the American and British governments.

The protesters demanded that the Egyptian, Jordanian and Saudi Regimes – and the neighbouring Muslim countries – send their armies to Lebanon to defend the Lebanese people. They also demanded that aid be provided for those that had been injured or displaced and to provide support for the families of those that had been murdered and martyred. They called for diplomatic and economic sanctions to be implemented immediately against Israel and her allies, including a complete oil embargo. The peaceful demonstration entitled ‘Hizb ut Tahrir calls for action against Israeli State Terrorism’ was organised by Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain, a non-violent Islamic political party that is spearheading the work for the return of the Islamic Caliphate in the Muslim world.

Protestors held banners written in Arabic and English that said "Stop Israel's Terrorism", "Khilafah is the only Answer", "Khilafah is the only way for stability in the Middle East", "Who cares for the Women and Children of Gaza and Lebanon", "The Arab Leaders betray the Ummah".

The last week has seen the Zionist government of Israel use state terrorism to cause indiscriminate destruction and killing of innocent civilians. The world has witnessed that the US and UK governments, and other G8 leaders. have given the government of Israel a green light to systematically destroy Lebanon and its people. The world has also witnessed the futility of the UN as an institution. The Muslim world has again witnessed the complicity of the leaders of the Muslim countries. Their lack of assistance to the people of Lebanon and their ongoing treaties and policies aid the government of Israel and her allies while the people of Lebanon are murdered by the Israeli war machine.

This problem is not a Lebanese problem it is a problem for all Muslims worldwide. The international community has repeatedly proven that it will never protect Muslims. We must act.

We must put pressure on governments in the region to do the following:

1. The armies of the Muslim countries must be sent to defend the people of Lebanon.

2. Aid must be provided to those that have been displaced or injured and the families of those that have been murdered.

3. Israel and her allies must be made to feel the diplomatic consequences of their aggression against the people of Lebanon. All diplomatic relations with Israel and her allies must be severed immediately.

4. Israel and her allies must be made to feel the economic consequences of their aggression against the people of Lebanon. Economic sanctions including an oil embargo must be implemented immediately.
